Big Island also known as Hawaii is the largest and youngest island in the state of Hawaiʻi. There is a lot of myths and legends in Hawaii and legend says that the volcano godess Pele and the demi-god Kampaua'a (whom could control the weather) made a deal to make The Big Islands west side dry and the east side wet.
