The Dolomites is a mountain range located in the northern part of Italy and we decided to explore the beautiful area for 3 days. Our first stop was the beautiful Lago Di Braies.

Lago Di Braies

Lago Di Braies also called the Pragser Wildsee is probably one of the most famous lakes in the Dolomites. With it’s beautiful mountain backdrop it’s worth witnessing it with your own eyes.

How to get there:

I would recommend you to drive there, the drive is easy and you can park the car right next to the lake. We parked over night and slept in the car and had no problems doing so, paid 12 Euros for 12 hours parking.

When is the best time to visit?

The lake is beautiful all year around and we went in late September to avoid the crowds, the peak season is between June and early September. I would recommend visiting the lake early morning to get the best views.

Hiking

Don't miss the beautiful walk around the lake, the views gets better and better along the way and also less crowded. If you are more adventurous you can also hike up the mountain Croda Del Becco (Seekofel) for spectacular views over the lake.
