Cusco is a city located in the Peruvian Andes, it was once the capital of the Inca Empire and has archeological remains of Inca stonework. It's the perfect place to use as a base to visit some amazing places.
Salineras de Maras
Salineras de Maras is located in the Secret Valley of the Incas and it consist of over 3000 salt ponds. These salt ponds are a perfect half day trip away from Cusco. We were five people sharing a taxi to the Salineras de Maras and we paid total 25$, so 5$ each for the taxi. You can also catch a bus there which is cheap but takes longer time.
Rainbow Mountains
You have probably seen pictures of the Rainbow Mountains on instagram, this beautiful green and red mountain. It's a perfect day trip from Cusco and I would highly recommend it even though it's getting quite touristy and crowded.

Ever since I was a little kid I’ve always wanted to visit this mysterious Inca village hidden deep in the Peruvian jungle. There are several ways that you can get to Machu Picchu and you can easily book a tour in Cusco.
