Have you ever dreamed of visiting this old Inca village in the heart of the Peruvian jungle? Cusco is the perfect place to start from and you won’t have a problem finding a tour that suits you. Before going there everyone told me to book a tour far in advance buts its not necessary unless you really want to do the real Inca Trail, that books out quite far in advance.

We choose a 4 day adventure tour to Machu Picchu which was perfect!

1 day

You’ll get picked up in the morning and then they drive you to Malagia High Pass where you will bike downhill for about 2 1/2 hours. After finishing the bike ride its time for lunch and if you added rafting you’ll do that in the afternoon.

2 Day

The second day its time to start the hike, the hike is quite easy and not to challenging. You’ll walk through beautiful sceneries and some parts are part of the Inca trail. You’ll see coffee and coca plantations and there are plenty of stops and nice view points along the way. The hike finishes at Santa Teresa where you can enjoy the hot springs for a few hours.

3 day

The third day starts off with zip lining and then a short ride to where you start the hike to Aguas Caliantes. You’ll walk along the train tracks and the nature is beautiful.

4 day

This is the day where you start the hike up to Machu Picchu, . There is also an option to take the bus up if you feel like the hike is too hard. You’ll have a few hours to explore Machu Picchu before walking down and back to where the train tracks ends. In the afternoon/evening the minibus will take you back to Cusco.
